Stereolab - "(Varoom!)"

One of the earlier Stereolab releases that I'd never heard before. I absolutely love this one. A perfect throwback to the hey day of Too Pure. This makes me want to hear nothing other than old Electrelane's drone pop and Th' Faith Healers/Quickspace's noise pop.

Just make sure you wait for the Suicide/Cluster-homage at roughly 3.5-minutes.

Okay so I'm closer to being a Stereolab fan today than yesterday - the feedback at the end of this song is pretty delicious - but still not yet %100....this is probably a pretty misguided question, but could you recommend, a sterolab album, that doesn't sound like stereolab? whats your favorite, anyway??

I totally agree with you on Stereolab. I've always liked them somewhat, but have never been able to completely enjoy much by them. With that being said, I'd take any of their earlier EPs on Too Pure than a full on album any day. That label just has an aesthetic I adore.

If you dig this song, I'd check out the one they did with Nurse With Wound. It's a trip. http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:0iftxqwjldse

I really just posted this song because I wasn't expecting the Faust-ian vibe of it.

Glad you enjoyed it too!
